Sean Hall, New Head Coach

Defensive Co-ordinator, Sean Hall has been promoted to Head Coach for Football North at St. Joe’s. “My passion is player development. Every athlete in this program will have the opportunity to improve” Coach Hall stated in his initial address to the players and parents.
Coach Hall brings 17 years university coaching experience to the role. He served as Defensive Co-ordinator at his alma mater, the University of Ottawa, and Defensive Backs coach for Carleton and Acadia. Coach Hall’s favourite coaching moment was watching two of his defensive backs from Carleton University, Tunde Adeleke (Calgary Stampeders) and Justin Howell (Ottawa Redblacks), compete in the 2018 Grey Cup game.
Coach Hall has a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Ottawa. He is married to Tammy Laverty, the daughter of Ottawa’s Sports Hall of Famer Ed Laverty.

Thank you Coach Scatcherd

Blaine Scatcherd, the first coach in program history, is stepping down. In a heart felt meeting, Coach Scatcherd informed the athletes that he intends to spend more time with his young family.
Coach Scatcherd has been instrumental in stewarding the program through the initial growth phase. As a long-time teacher at St. Joseph High School, he is instrumental in Football North finding a home in Ottawa and ensuring the student-athletes found a welcoming and stable environment. Coach Scatcherd will remain at St. Joe’s and serve as liaison with the program.
Defensive Coordinator, Sean Hall, will assume the mantel of Head Coach and build on the foundation that ‘Scatch’ has laid.

Hamlin Earns First NCAA Offer

Arthur Hamlin has received his first NCAA Division 1 offer from Colgate University. Arthur is a versatile Free Safety who competes as linebacker and on offense. Set to graduate in 2019, Hamlin’s academic performance opens many opportunities. On the camp experience Arthur said; “I had a great camp, talked with my position coaches and they told me I would be hearing good news soon”

#4 St. Frances added to Schedule

Entering year 2, FNSJ has ramped up the competition with the addition of St. Frances Academy (MD) to the schedule. FNSJ will play at St. Frances on Friday October 26th. This will be the 3rd game v. Top 100 programs in 2018. FNSJ will also compete at Cathedrial Prep (PA) and St. Edwards (OH). A return date with Ohio State Champion Steubenville and the rivalry game at Clarkson make for heightend competition this year.

Tyrell Richards having a great camp at Syracuse

Tyrell Richards Linebacker Football North, Tyrell was the very first Football North player to receive a Division 1 NCAA offer from the University Of Syracuse. Tyrell was a model player working hard day in and day out the sky is the limit for what he can do. Tyrell is having an exceptional Spring camp and Is looking to get after it in the fall for the ORANGE!

Top rated WR Ready for summer camps!

Clarke Barns Wide Receiver, Clarke burst onto the scene at Football North in its Second year. Clarke notched his first offer from the University of Liberty and looks to continue gaining more offers as he enters his senior campaign.

BIG man Tyrell Lawrence receives his first NCAA offer!

Tyrell Lawrence Defensive Line, Tyrell is the youngest of the Football North players to ever receive a scholarship offer. Tyrell is currently in grade 10 and has an offer form the University of Howard. Look of for him to become one of the premier players in Canada in a few years.
